Bailes, Tonadas & Cachuas: Songs and Dances from Trujillo, Peru

 How unusual to find any 18th-century popular music in manuscript! But the bishop Martínez Compañon compiled a codex covering every aspect of life in Peru—including twenty popular songs and dances so varied that they show the dynamic mix of cultures during the colonial era. The Latin American musicians of Música Temprana are ideal interpreters for this rare repertory.
